Christmas Morning Sausage Balls

This is my mom’s recipe and I don’t change it one bit!  I had this on Christmas morning every year for as long as I can remember growing up.  I spent this 2010 Christmas at my home in New York with just Matt, so I made these for the two of us.  They are delicious!!

Ingredients:
1 1/2 blocks of sharp Cheddar cheese, shredded
1 lb. breakfast sausage, removed from casings if necessary
3 cups Bisquick mix, the original kind

Directions:
Preheat the oven to 350 F. Combine all the ingredients in a large bowl. Use the largest mixing bowl you have. Using your hands, mix together until the sausage has absorbed all the baking mix and cheese. This takes awhile, and you must use your hands, it’s the only way it will work.
Form the mixture into small balls, like you would with meatballs. Place on a GREASED baking sheet (do not, under any circumstances neglect to grease your baking sheet!) and cook for 15-20 minutes, until the sausage is cooked through. Let cool for a minute, then remove with a spatula. Serve and enjoy!!
