Wallace-Miller House Sangria!

Matt and I came up with this Sangria recipe together. We were just chatting about sangria one day (you know you do it too!) and we realized that we’d never made it with red wine, only white wine or rose wine. We decided that should be corrected! So after some brain-storming and shopping, this is what we came up with! It’s pretty good, I think. If you try it, please let me know what you think, I’m very open to suggestions if it needs improvement. Enjoy!

1 bottle Rioja Spanish red wine
1 cup white rum
20 oz. bottle of Sprite, chilled (use less if you want your pitcher to be stronger)
Red seedless grapes, halved
1 Red Bartlett pear, sliced
1 Red apple, sliced
1 Orange, sliced
In a large pitcher, combine the wine and the rum. Add the fruit and stir. Chill for half an hour. Right before serving, add in the Sprite. Stir very gently, just to combine the flavors but don’t kill the carbonation. Serve in tall glasses with ice, if desired.
